Research interests

We are interested in a range of topics related to learning and cognitive control, in healthy humans and also in psychopathology. Currently we are working on:

  • Improving the experimental methods and stats for investigating habits and goal-directed actions.

  • Measuring the balance between habit and goal-directed systems during the course of learning, with no need of a ‘test of habits’.

  • The interaction between emotion, learning, and decision making.

  • Neural signals related with habits and goal-directed actions.

  • Habits and transdiagnostic symptomatology.

Open Science

We are advocates of Open and Slow Science. We share our materials, data and code openly on the Open Science Framework (OSF). We pre-registered all our empirical studies (experiments and meta-analyses). And we focus on quality over quantity. One important aim is ‘not adding more noise to the field’.
